Chase Henson doesn’t play by the rules. He doesn’t let himself get attached, doesn’t stay in one place long enough to call anywhere home. So when he returns to the small town of Summer Hill for the first time in years, the last thing he expects to find is a reason to stay.

Sierra Belmont is lost. After a sudden loss that left her heart broken in a million pieces, Sierra is just barely getting by. Burying herself in work at Summer Hill’s only bookstore, all she wants to do is make it through another day.

And then Chase comes in to buy a book. Rumors that he’s dangerous fly through the town, but Sierra isn’t afraid of him. He might be the last person she should be with, but he’s the only one who understands the depth of her pain. For the first time, Chase stands still, fighting the desperation to mend Sierra’s broken heart.

Always running, the past has never had a chance to catch up to Chase. But there’s a first time for everything.

Rating: 4 Groupie StarsSo many emotions!! Emily Goodwin has a way of making the reader feel what her characters are feeling and it was heart wrenching at times!

Sierra has known tragedy and she is just starting to come back to the person she once was, but she still has a long way to go. After losing her love she doesn’t want to find love again, she already had her love, she doesn’t get another. Then she meets Chase, and the drowning feeling she has starts to fade.

Chase comes back to the small town his half brother loves in after their father dies, but he decides to stick around for a little while. He never put down roots before but for some reason he is drawn to this town and to the mysterious woman who’s phone he has, but after figuring out who the phone belongs to he feels even closer to Sierra and wants to get to know her.

Chase never pushed Sierra for more than she was ready to give and she starts to open up to Chase. Their romance blooms into something that neither of them were expecting.

Chases past remains a mystery which kept the reader interested in what happened his past. But can Chase’s secret about Sierra’s old love phone remain a secret? How will Sierra react to Chases secret?

I loved their characters and their slow building romance. I felt what they were feeling and it made the whole book a wonderful experience.
