Release Blitz & Review: I Do(nt) by Leddy Harper

BLURB

I fell in love with Holden York when I was six years old.

Most of my youth came with spiral notebooks filled with doodles, wedding plans, and “Janelle York” looped in bubbly handwriting.

However, one night in Vegas changed everything.

I woke up to more than just a fantasy of my brother’s best friend.

Five years later, I’m standing on his doorstep confronting him about the secret he kept from me.

If you think this is the story of how we rode off into the sunset together…

You’re so wrong.

But if you think this is the story of how Holden blackmailed me into living with him…

You couldn’t be more right.

Rating: 4.5 Groupie Stars

I was intrigued from the blurb and knew I had to read I Do(‘nt). I love Ms. Harper’s writing style. This book showed her lighter side. I love that this book was light hearted and made me laugh.

Janelle has been in love with Holden since she was just a child, doodling her name as Janelle York. Holden was her brothers best friend and was like family. Her brother got married in Vegas and Janelle woke up to Holden in her hotel room and no longer holding her V-card. She didn’t remember what happened. Their wires got crossed and they went their separate ways when they returned home. Janelle went off to college and seemed to leave her family behind. Several years later she returns to her home town needing a divorce from Holden to move forward with her plans. He is surprised that she knew what happens in Vegas. Holden has a proposition for her and if she does what he wants he’ll sign her papers. So what could possibly go wrong?

This story was a great second chance love story. I loved their banter. You could tell they still had feelings for one another and it was frustrating at times waiting on them to see it. There were so many funny moments when they were trying to make the other give in. There was also a great chemistry and history between them. The ending was perfect and left me smiling. I cannot wait to read more from Ms. Harper.

About Leddy Harper

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.

The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.
