What’s sexier than a bad boy? A bad ass man who’s got his shit together.
Max Alexander is nearing thirty-five. He’s built a successful company, and he’s conquered the professional world, but he’s never been lucky in love. Focusing so much time on his business and raising his daughter, adulting has come at the expense of his personal life.
His social skills are shit, his patience is shot, and at times, his temper runs hot.
The last thing he has time for is the recently single, too gorgeous for her own good young woman he hires to take care of his little girl. She’s a distraction he doesn’t need, and besides, there’s no way she’d be interested. But you know what they say about assumptions?
This is book 3 in the Roommates series, but each book can be read as a complete standalone as they all feature new couples to fall in love with.
Rating: 4 Groupie Stars
The House Mate is the third book in the Room Mates series. All books can be read as standalone though.
This book was just as good as the previous 2. It was very light hearted, easy to read, funny, romantic and sexy.
This was a friends to lovers story but as Addison works for Max as a nanny for Max’s daughter Dylan it is also a boss and employee story.
I’ve only ever read a couple of stories where there is a single dad as the main character so I liked that this was new for me and very refreshing.
The story was very easy to relate to, as were the characters. The story felt very much like this could happen in real life. I liked this and enjoyed reading a story that wasn’t far fetched for a change.
The chemistry between Max and Addison is scorching right from the very beginning. The anticipation of what would happen next and them getting together kept me flying through the pages and hooked. Their relationship intrigued me so much as I’d both of the characters separately.
The story is told in alternative POV so you really get to no both characters very well.
Max will capture your heart but Dylan will melt it. She is adorable. I loved how she always came first for Max and Dylan and that their own happiness and being together is pushed aside as they no the consequences if it not working out for Dylan.
A lovely summer read.
