A forbidden romance about pain that binds us together…

Five years ago we lived in the same house. He was the ultimate bad boy.

And my foster brother.

Now he’s back. Tougher, harder, meaner. All of it aimed at me, because I was the one who sent him away. It’s payback time. He wants his pound of flesh, and I am helpless to say no.

Better When it Hurts is an intense and heartbreakingly beautiful story. I couldn’t read fast enough to see what would happen next with Blue and Lola. A definite 5 star read for sure!”

~ Jenika Snow, USA Today bestselling author

Better When it Hurts is the second book in the Stripped Series but it can be read as a standalone.  Blue and Lola (Hannah) lived in the same foster home and seemed to be falling in love. But all of that changed when Lola lied and he got sent away. Five years later when he shows back up in the same small town and happens to work at the same club as Lola she knows it’s no coincidence. She thinks he’s after revenge for what she did all those years ago. Will they be able to come to terms with their pasts and move forward?

Better When it Hurts was a good second chance at love story. From the beginning I felt like Blue was genuinely looking out for Lola. I’m sure he still have some anger about their past that was obvious in the way he spoke to her in the beginning. This book is the perfect combination of angst, drama and hot, dirty sex. This book had me on my toes from the first chapter, Ms Warren jumps right into the storyline and I couldn’t wait to finish it to find out how it ended.

The characters were well developed and real. Blue was handsome, tough, possessive, dirty talking alpha; in my book this makes him the perfect book boyfriend. Lola ( Hannah) is a beautiful, strong woman. Put the two together and the fireworks explode. Their chemistry is through the  roof; you can feel the sexual tension while listening to this book. This was an exceptionally well written story; I was just sad to see it end so soon. I cannot wait to listen to the next book in this series to see what’s next for this duo. If you like a dark read you’ll love Better When it Hurts.
